Home Improvement Funding for the Elderly and Isolated

Focus4Hope are delighted to announce that we have entered in to a partnership with Eclipse Energy.

Eclipse Energy are a Halifax based energy efficient home improvement specialist, and have worked regularly over recent years securing funding for the less well off in Calderdale and West Yorkshire so that they can make their homes warmer, safer and cheaper to live in.

One example of such a scheme is Better Homes Yorkshire, where the West Yorkshire Combined Authority secured funding to provide free insulation for the attic bedrooms or lofts of 115 Calderdale homes, as part of the Tackling Fuel Poverty programme.

Eclipse have partnered with Focus4Hope to help the isolated elderly that it’s our pleasure to work with every week. As part of our work to help the community, we hold events like our reminiscent cinema afternoons, providing a place for the elderly to spend time amongst friends and in the company of others. Helping the elderly in Calderdale is vitally important to us, and we want to do everything we can to support them.

As part of our work together, Eclipse are offering assistance to help you access funding and improve your homes. The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government initiative to provide certain households that qualify under particular criteria with grants to save on energy bills and cut their carbon emissions. The scheme ensures the larger energy providers supply efficient energy measures to the UK’s low income or vulnerable households.

Any of our elderly friends who are in receipt of pension credit could qualify for a free boiler under the ECO scheme. We have heard from the people we work with that heating in the winter can be a huge strain on finances, and Eclipse are able to help cover these costs and reduce your bills.

In addition, Eclipse work on a number of measures across Calderdale, including insulation and ventilation to reduce damp and mould. We are happy to refer any of our friends to Eclipse for free consultations on their property, and how they can make their homes warmer and safer, either by themselves or by consulting with their landlord or housing association.
